A recent monitoring visit by Ofsted at Smith’s Wood has praised the Academy for ‘significant’ improvements made.
Stuart Clarkson, one of His Majesty’s Inspectors, praised the academy – which had the most improved attendance in the whole of Solihull local authority last year and was the seventh most improved in England – in his latest report, stating , ‘You take the right actions, in the right order and at the right pace’.
Mr Huntington, Principal at Smith’s Wood Academy has written to parents and staff, showing recognition to them, the students and the wider community for their support. He also acknowledged there is still more work to be done. He noted “whilst we are pleased with the letter and the direction the school is heading; I also want you to be crystal clear that there will be no letting up or complacency. Under my leadership the school will always strive to be better regardless of how well we may be doing.”.
